{"id":11162,"date":"2018-05-21T10:10:46","date_gmt":"2018-05-21T08:10:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eastwind.es\/marketing\/en\/?p=11162"},"modified":"2018-05-21T16:05:04","modified_gmt":"2018-05-21T14:05:04","slug":"baidu-sells-its-ads-and-tool-apps-business-to-concentrate-in-ai","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eastwind.es\/marketing\/en\/baidu-sells-its-ads-and-tool-apps-business-to-concentrate-in-ai\/","title":{"rendered":"Baidu sells its ads and tool apps business to concentrate on AI business"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Baidu, Inc. the leading Chinese language Internet search provider, today announced that it has entered into definitive agreements with certain investors relating to the divestiture of its global ad and tools business (\u00abGlobal DU business\u00bb), which provides DU ads and tool apps, including Du Caller, Mobojoy, Photo Wonder and DU Recorder.<\/p>\n<p>Upon the completion of the transaction, Baidu will own approximately 34% of Global DU business&#8217;s outstanding shares and no longer have effective control.<\/p>\n<p>Still subject to certain closing conditions the sale transaction is expected to be executed by the end of the third quarter of 2018. Once completed the divestment the transaction, the Global DU business is expected to disappear from Baidu&#8217;s consolidated financial statements.<\/p>\n<p>Baidu&#8217;s new global business unit will focus on AI-powered businesses, including the fast growing PopIn, a leading mobile recommendation engine, the #1 input method Simeji app in Japan and various AI products offered in the U.S. and throughout Southeast Asia. Baidu&#8217;s global presence also include cutting-edge research centers in the Silicon Valley and Seattle, Washington.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abWe have been able to build global adoption of DU ads and tool apps through Baidu&#8217;s strong technological team.
