Some advertising agencies such as Dentsu in Japan are already creating products and marketing them with no specific client in mind. Dentsu’s Mameshiba is a good example, to name just one, among several projects both in the market and on the pipeline.

Wieden + Kennedy recently announced the launch of its Garage and some years ago Eastwind Magazine told about Choosee the organic food gourmet retail project in Tokyo, in which Saatchi & Saatchi Fallon got involved.
McKinney has an incubator within the agency, which is called McKinney ten percent. A strowery sorbet in the shape of a fist, with the forefinger straight up.
This idea was not finally produced and marketed by McCann Spain, but by one of its clients, an icecream and sorbet manufacturer called Frigo. That product idea made all Spaniards literally “suck the fingher” and not for just one Summer.

Recently, a little creative Spanish agency Germinal Comunicacion generated a product called las “pastillas contra el dolor ajeno” (pills against the pain of thhe others), which swept advertising festivals within and outside the borders of Spain. With the sale of these pill shaped candies, which are marketed just through pharmacies, have become an actual success in the side of the creative awards crop and as relates to the funding crop for Doctors Without Borders, the first aim of this idea.

Surely there are many more success stories like those above, and its a good thing that LOLA has taken the time to write a manifesto on the matter “Doing, even better than Saying” and also has taken the first step in Spain in order to create a platform to bring this thoughts to life, called LOLA Does

Products “made in LOLA” will be marketed

Every product, service or experience born within the platform will be offered to the public with a business plan specially designed for it.
Miguel Simoes, CEO of LOLA said that not all projects have the same goals and needs, so that not all products or services must be marketed in the same way. We want to go deeper, he continued, learning beyond advertising and generating knowledge to better serve our customers and useful for other people, he concluded .

Chacho Puebla, Executive Creative Director and Partner of LOLA, underscored that this is not only a matter for creatives, the ideas come from all departments: Planning, Production, Accounts and obviously the Creative Department, but we encourage ideas to come from any source.
