Facebook\u2019s Internet.org is aimed at bringing connectivity to the 5Bn people around the world currently without access to the Net, and to achieve this, connected mobile devices and smartphones are to play a central role.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBuilding a platform that makes mobile phones accessible for everyone has always been at the heart of Android. With KitKat, we\u2019ve slimmed down Android\u2019s memory footprint by doing things like removing unnecessary background services and reducing the memory consumption of features that you use all the time,\u201d explained Google. And it has done this not only within Android but across other Google services like Chrome and YouTube.<\/p>\n<p>Far beyond the \u201cdemocratic\u201d approach and origins of both companies, the truth is that developing countries and new smartphone adopters, usually chosing low range devices, show themselves as the main drivers for growth for Google\u2019s Android and Facebook.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>The less RAM required, the lowest price for devices<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>RAM (or memory) is one of the most expensive parts of a phone, that\u2019s why reducing the RAM requirements contributes to enhance the experience in lower range smartphones making it available for a widest range of users, specially for low budget ones, supporting the reduction of the digital mobile breach between just phone and smartphone owners. This surely will positively impact the pace of economic evolution in developing countries, specially in China and other nations where 4G is being rolled out even before the 3G is completely implemented.<\/p>\n<p>Once widespread the use and penetration of smartphones in developed countries.
