From Pokemon Go, to Animal Crossing and Minecraft, the virtual ingame worlds that saved social interactions through avatars in the middle of a real pandemic and social distanced world, are providing for ways to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year of the Ox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Pocket Camp<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From February 10 – 17 players will find the Korean New Year Gift, Chinese New Year Gifts, and Chinese New Year Decorations available in the Nook Shopping Seasonal Goods section.
At the start of the same day, Isabelle will deliver a special message, wishing the islanders good fortune. The day before the event, the player will receive a letter from Mom, containing an item from the Mom Series.
The Lunar New Year Wall & Floor Collection has returned to Animal Crossing Leaf Pocket Camp this year.
From February 4th to 18th. Within this period players can craft special gold-and-red decorations such as the Paper-Lantern Wall using Leaf Tickets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, each day one player log in will be rewarded a Lunar New Year Gift item to decorate the player’s camp. In the store and players will find a whole bunch of clothing and items to craft as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If players want to welcome the Year of the Ox in Minecraft, they can find free skins in the Marketplace and Character Creator that will help make their celebration a little more festive this year of confinement and social distancing by the COVID-19 pandemic in the real world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides the new contents and worlds availablein Minecraft for this lunar new year of the OX Lenovo has sponsored a virtual Wuhan City in the game.
BCW worked with Lenovo to sponsor a team of college students to produce a virtual version of Wuhan city and rebuild all its landmarks within the virtual world of Minecraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The short Minecraft Wuhan film by SuperNova and Lenovo celebrates the new year and remembers the past year under the pandemic by recreating over 10 classic landmarks in Wuhan. They were used over 300 million blocks to build the Minecraft Wuhan and It took about 1 month to fully complete the project.
With a manufacturing base in Wuhan, Lenovo shows this way how technology can be used to rebuild the city in both the online and offline worlds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pokemon GO!<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Mixing real an virtual worlds Pokemon GO has put multiple bovine Pokemon on the forefront for this event celebration of the lunar year of the ox.
Players are now able to participate in timed research tasks that involve Pokemon such as Miltank and Tauros.

There are four total steps for the Lunar New Year timed research tasks with the majority of them being easy to complete. In addition to item prizes, these tasks additionally allow players to get encounters with a variety of helpful Pokemon that are recommended catches.
Players only had till February 14th, 2021 at 1:00 PM to complete these tasks and claim these prizes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
