Ikea has succeeded to export the BloKlok home real estate project to the UK under the interior design lead by Jaime Gonzalez Rosa.
Affordable, stylish and sustainable homes, co-created by IKEA and Swedish leading building company Skanska, launched successfully in Bristol (South-West England) and there are plans in place for other several BloKlok projects, starting in Worthing, on the south coast.

BoKlok on the Brook is proof that IKEA and Skanska homes can work outside of Scandinavia, points IKEA.

As well as being a good business itself considered that brings social benefits for ordinary people, every BloKlok project provides a perfect showcase for Ikea products and values that lets people acquire an IKEA experience specifically adapted for their own ordinary live and surely earn loyal clients for life this way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BloKlok on the Lake in Worthing, Sussex will be the second development, offering lakeside apartments not far from the city centre, with nature on their doorstep and great outdoor recreational amenities.

BloKlok is the home ownership concept, co-created by IKEA and Swedish company Skanska, the fifth largest construction company in the world. The first BoKlok homes were built in Sweden in 1997.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All 94 homes sold out as soon as available for purchase in latest March and June<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The first UK BoKlok community at Bristol offers a choice of various sizes of houses and apartments, set within green areas and playgrounds. The brook that gives the development its name has also benefited from extensive regeneration thanks to this Ikea development.

When the project was announced in December 2020, over 2,000 people registered their interest. Two sales phases in March and June 2021 led to all 94 homes being reserved or sold on binding contracts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bathrooms and Kitchens by IKEA provided as a standard, the rest furniture pieces and softs must be bought separately by the client<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

BloKlok developments provide IKEA with a great showcase and hotbed of devote clients for their products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As well as the IKEA kitchen and bathroom suites (which are included as standard in all BloKlok homes), all of the furniture and soft furnishings in in the show homes can be found and purchased from IKEA stores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s more, if the buyer of a BoKlok home is an IKEA Family Member, he\/she will receive a \u00a3300 IKEA voucher, as well as a free, 1.5 hour session with an IKEA interior designer who will be on hand to provide the client with lots of helpful tips and advice to make the new home just right for him\/her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBoKlok homes are designed with a well-proportioned use of space. The homes enjoy open plan solutions, which facilitate a good flow between kitchen, dining and living areas, promoting more social interactions, while maximising the square meters available. Our Scandinavian identity is perfectly represented by good functionality and harmonious shapes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sustainability is a central part of the BoKlok ethos, aligned with the IKEA goals to become climate-positive by 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All BoKlok homes are timber-framed and prefabricated in factories, rather than fully constructed on a building site. The carbon footprint is less than half that of a normal build. And the houses are delivered in half the time. Internal features are built with the environment in mind to minimise heat loss, promote efficiency and save water.
\u201cWe do as much as possible to minimise environmental impact,\u201d says de la Rosa. \u201cWe recycle most of our leftover materials, less than 1% gets thrown away.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
