McCann Erickson Japan announced today that has hired the first artificial intelligence Creative Director in the world, the AI-CD \u00df\u00a0(AI-CD beta).<\/p>\n
The A.I. is designed to mine, amog other commercials, \u00a0the\u00a0database of the\u00a0All Japan Radio & Television Commercial Confederation\u2019s annual CM Festival (ACC CM Festival) and creatively direct the optimal commercial for any given product or message.<\/p>\n

No more dependence from creative human experience and know how?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n To develop the A.I., the MILLENNIALS team deconstructed, analysed and tagged a wide range of TV commercials, including the winners of the ACC CM Festival awards for the past 10 years<\/p>\n The next step will be that AI-CD \u00df will be assigned as a creative director to client accounts providing this way creative direction for commercials for a given creative brief.<\/p>\n The robot will allow providing clients with work produced through logic-based creative direction grounded on past TV commercial data. In addition to giving creative direction for commercials, the AI-CD \u00df will also evaluate and gain learnings from results after the commercials have aired, to improve precision for future projects. First outcome from the Creative Genome Project<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n AI-CD \u00df was developed through the Creative Genome Project, which is one among the first carried out by McCann Millennials. Shun Matsuzaka, creative planner at McCann Japan and the founder of McCann Millennials said: \u201cOur team didn\u2019t have a creative director, so we thought, why not create one ourselves with artificial intelligence? That\u2019s how the Creative Genome Project got started.
