The latest 3D body scanning technology developed by Fjord\u2019s Chaotic R&D (Design and Innovation from Accenture Interactive) will be showcased during Cannes Lions Innovation Festival to take place on 21st and 22nd June this year in Cannes (France).<\/p>\n

This technology has a wide range of applications for online and offline retailers, as it creates a digital twin body of the people scanned who could allow for extreme customization and assured fit of one\u2019s clothing, making shopping, especially online, easier than ever, and saving both retailers and customers valuable time and money. This technology could also offer users better insight and perspective to set and track fitness goals.<\/p>\n

The tech behind<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

3D time-of-flight sensor connected to a tablet that\u2019s running a proprietary application form the 3D digital avatar.
\nA scanner equipped with IR sensors and camera captures the user\u2019s likeness and measures depth.
\nOne auto-rigging algorithm places skeletal joints in the mesh.<\/p>\n

Then motion data are applied via animation re-targeting. And real-time game engine with virtual cameras and lights captures multiple perspectives and allows for sharing via video-to-gif conversion for social media.<\/p>\n

The d\u00f6ppeldancer experience at Cannes<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Accenture will allow atendees to Cannes Lions create with its 3D body scan tech their own personal d\u00f6ppel dancer able to turn anyone with two legs, no matter how \u00abbutter feet\u00bb he\/she might bee into an actual dance machine. Scanned delegates will watch their digital twin dance on the screen and can then share their dancing avatar on social networks or with friends and other delegates.<\/p>\n
