Sony Pictures Animation announced today that Emmy and Tony award winner\u00a0James Corden\u00a0(Into the Woods) and Emmy nominee\u00a0Ilana Glazer\u00a0(Broad City)\u00a0join previously announced\u00a0T.J. Miller(Deadpool) to lead the cast of the first ever animated comedy\u00a0titled Emojimovie: Express Yourself.<\/p>\n
The film will offer a surprising and comic take on the secret world inside our phones and the beloved characters that have become daily necessities in global interpersonal communication. This animated comedy is directed by Anthony Leondis, produced by Michelle Raimo Kouyate, and written by Anthony Leondis & Eric Siegel.<\/p>\n
The movie is sheduled for its release in theaters by Columbia Pictures on 11th August 2017.<\/p>\n
Hidden within the messaging app is Textopolis, a bustling city where all your favorite emojis live, hoping to be selected by the phone’s user.\u00a0In this world, each emoji has only one facial expression \u2013 except for\u00a0Gene (T.J. Miller), an exuberant emoji who was born without a filter and is bursting with multiple expressions.\u00a0Determined to become \u00abnormal\u00bb like the other emojis, Gene enlists the help of his handy best friend Hi-5 (James Corden) and the notorious\u00a0code breaker\u00a0emoji Jailbreak (Ilana Glazer). Together, they embark on an epic \u00abapp-venture\u00bb through the apps on the phone, each its own wild and fun world, to find the Code that will fix Gene.\u00a0But when a greater danger threatens the phone, the fate of all emojis depends on these three unlikely friends who must save their world before it’s deleted forever.<\/p>\n

For the rebel ‘break all the codes’ computer programmer emoji Jailbreak,\u00a0Ilana Glazer\u00a0is the kind of singularly free-spirited, fearless and funny actress to make girls really feel the empowered ‘nobody’s gonna keep me in a cage’ attitude this character exudes.
