{"id":5726,"date":"2016-11-30T23:24:40","date_gmt":"2016-11-30T22:24:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/eastwind.es\/marketing\/en\/?p=5726"},"modified":"2016-12-01T12:29:36","modified_gmt":"2016-12-01T11:29:36","slug":"iab-tech-lab-opens-new-digital-mobile-ad-formats-for-public-comment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eastwind.es\/marketing\/en\/iab-tech-lab-opens-new-digital-mobile-ad-formats-for-public-comment\/","title":{"rendered":"IAB Tech Lab opens new digital mobile ad formats for public comment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0IAB Technology Laboratory\u00a0has released for public comment an update to the Mobile Rich Media Ad Interface Definition (MRAID).<br \/>\nThe public comment period will run till 30th Jannuary 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The revised MRAID 3.0 provides technical guidance for improved user experience, faster ad rendering, viewability measurement, and Video Player Ad Interface Definition (VPAID) integration, among other advancements.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn today\u2019s mobile-centric world, guidelines that allow for interoperability are imperative,\u201d said Alanna Gombert, Senior Vice President, Technology and Ad Operations, IAB, and General Manager, IAB Tech Lab. \u201cThese revised guidelines will further enhance and improve the rich mobile ad experience for consumers, while also improving ad effectiveness for advertisers and publishers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith more accurate mobile viewability metrics, MRAID 3.0 creates better opportunities for publishers to monetize their inventory and for brands to understand the effectiveness of their campaigns,\u201d said Anna Bager, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Mobile and Video, IAB. \u201cThe IAB Mobile Marketing Center of Excellence is impressed with the IAB Tech Lab\u2019s continued development of the MRAID standard, and look forward to future cooperation on its advancement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>New features<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>MRAID 3.0 introduces several new features, including:<\/p>\n<p>Guidance on pre-loading ads and ensuring ads are shown to the user only when they are ready for display<\/p>\n<p>Viewability measurement by the viewable percentage of an ad, as well as clearer tracking on the presence of an ad<\/p>\n<p>Full integration with VPAID to permit video measurement within mobile ads leveraging MRAID<\/p>\n<p>Ability to discover whether access to device location is enabled, while further providing information about the location<\/p>\n<p>Audibility measurement to inform the ad if device audio is enabled and at what volume level<\/p>\n<p>Detection of relevant attributes that indicate whether an ad is running in MRAID-compliant web view at initialization time, while eliminating ambiguous interpretations<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>First major revamp in four years<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Developed by members of the MRAID Working Group, this release marks the first major overhaul to MRAID in more than four years, and not only advances the specs, but also makes them more developer-friendly.<\/p>\n<p>Public comment on the new IAB Standard Ad Unit Potfolio closed on 28th November<\/p>\n<p>The IAB has closed recently, on 28th November, the public comment period on the omplete overhaul of the \u201cIAB Standard Ad Unit Portfolio\u201d embracing brands\u2019 growing need to reach consumers across multiple screens at scale, with ad units that integrate aspect ratio\u2013based flexible ad sizes.<\/p>\n<p>The reform is based on the principles of lightweight, encrypted, AdChoices supported, and non-invasive advertising within all of its display, mobile, video, and native ad formats.
