Rosenberg attended Stanford University where he earned his Bachelor\u2019s, Master\u2019s, and PhD degrees.<\/p>\n His doctoral work focused on robotics, virtual reality, and human-computer interaction. While working as a graduate researcher at the U.S. Air Force\u2019s Armstrong Labs in the early 1990s, Rosenberg created \u2018Virtual Fixtures\u2019, the first immersive Augmented Reality system ever built. Rosenberg then founded Immersion Corporation to pursue virtual reality technologies.<\/p>\n While being CEO at Immersion, he brought the company public in 1999. \u00a0Rosenberg also founded\u00a0Microscribe LLC,\u00a0maker of the world\u2019s\u00a0first desktop 3D digitizer \u2013 the Microscribe 3D\u00a0\u2013 which has been\u00a0used\u00a0in the production of many feature films, including Shrek and Ice Age (acquired in 2009).<\/p>\n More recently, he established Outland Research, a developer of\u00a0advanced interfaces for mobile devices (acquired in 2012).\u00a0 He\u2019s also worked as a tenured Professor at California State University (Cal Poly),\u00a0teaching design and entrepreneurship.\u00a0\u00a0Rosenberg has been awarded more than 300 patents for his technological efforts.
