People who played only single player, they spent on average 13 minutes playing Dragon Phone that week. People who played at least one game which involved being connected to another person spent on average 205 minutes and they spent 16 times a week.

We also looked at how many times did people playing multiplayer came back to play ant it was three tiems higher than those in the single player mode, he said.

Mike Lebeau (Product Manager, Oculus) provided as well some data on this point from the Oculus Rooms experience. Social VR is engaging, he underscored, people spend five times more time in rooms when provided social interactions and they are twice more likely to return in the case of social VR Rooms.

Other data comming from the Oculus Rooms experience is that 48% of users connected in Rooms with family members, and another 36% connected with close friends. A 46% of Rooms users lived a VR experience together with others, instead of alone or half alone, he added.

Lebeu agreed that one thing that makes social VR engaging and great is the sense of CO PRESENCE but pointed that there is another point, as much engaging than the feeling of CO PRESENCE. The team working in the Oculus Social Platform is building tools and products for developers in all the steps and points that make up the whole social VR experience.

<img decoding="async" class="wp-image-7570" src="https://eastwind.es/marketing/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2017/04/Facebook_F8_The-SocialVR-journey_products-and-apisrelated.jpg" alt="The social VR journey, products and tools attached to each step. © Facebook.
