The\u00a0Cannes\u00a0Lions\u00a0International Festival of Creativity has invited Maurice L\u00e9vy to become its first Honorary Chairman of the\u00a0Cannes\u00a0Lions\u00a0School.
\nThe Cannes Lions School is the collective name that covers all Festival’s extensive onsite learning and development programmes.<\/p>\n

Cannes\u00a0Lions\u00a0has been training the industry since 1995, evolving from a one-off Young\u00a0Lions\u00a0Competition, to the offering of extensive and varied learning opportunities as well as competitions the Festival includes today.<\/p>\n

Catering to multiple disciplines and career stages, the programmes run exclusively during the Festival week each June. In his role as Honorary Chairman, L\u00e9vy will help the Festival focus on talent, developing its existing programme and exploring new opportunities, not only during the competition dates but also throughout the year.<\/p>\n

Maurice Levy said on his appointment: \u201cI am honored that the Festival asked me to take on the role of Honorary Chairman of the\u00a0Cannes\u00a0Lions\u00a0School, an initiative that I believe is essential for supporting and promoting future generations of creative minds. Steve Latham, Head of Talent & Training at\u00a0Cannes\u00a0Lions, added: \u201cMr Levy will help raise the profile of our professional training at the Festival. Creativity is at the heart of all our training, whether that\u2019s for students at the beginning of their career, the rising stars and next generation of industry leaders, or experienced senior marketers. Working with an industry legend to help us ensure our training remains relevant is so exciting, I can\u2019t wait to get started\u201d.<\/p>\n

As part of his role as Honorary Chairman of the\u00a0Cannes\u00a0Lions\u00a0School, Maurice L\u00e9vy will address the Young\u00a0Lions\u00a0onsite on the penultimate day of the Festival, encouraging them to take home and share their learnings and be the champion of creativity in their company. Mr Levy will also offer his counsel on how the Festival can keep providing meaningful training going forwards.<\/p>\n

Still President and CEO of Publicis Groupe, Maurice L\u00e9vy will hand the batton over at the end of May, when he will become Chairman should the the General Assembly vote in favor of the proposal on May 31st 2017.
\nAthur Sadoun will succeed L\u00e9vy as President and CEO Publicis Groupe on 1st July this year.<\/p>\n
