{"id":969,"date":"2015-10-06T13:09:49","date_gmt":"2015-10-06T11:09:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/eastwind.es\/marketing\/en\/?p=969"},"modified":"2015-10-06T14:05:27","modified_gmt":"2015-10-06T12:05:27","slug":"orange-digital-ventures-invests-in-afrostream-svod-for-africans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eastwind.es\/marketing\/en\/orange-digital-ventures-invests-in-afrostream-svod-for-africans\/","title":{"rendered":"Orange Digital Ventures invests in Afrostream SVOD for africans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Orange Digital Ventures announced today that has become one of the investors in Afrostream, a subscription video on demand service (SVOD) of African, African-American and African-Caribbean films and television series.<br \/>\nThe French venture capital company belonging to Orange is funding this SVOD alongside with TheFamily, Cross Culture Ventures I L.P. and ACE &amp; Company.<\/p>\n<p>Taking advantage of its presence in Africa as well as in European countries with large African diaspora populations, Orange will collaborate with the start-up to favor Afrostream\u2019s development by providing its expertise in networks, distribution and payment.<\/p>\n<p>Afrostream\u2019s unlimited SVOD streaming service is already available on all connected screens in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Senegal and C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire (www.afrostream.tv). It features programming for the entire family and includes cartoons, concerts and documentaries, in addition to films and TV series.<\/p>\n<p>Afrostream has been initially supported by Orange Fab France and Y Combinator, a seed accelerator based in Silicon Valley.<\/p>\n<p>Pierre Louette, Deputy CEO of Orange and President of Orange Digital Ventures, said \u201cThis investment is part of ODV\u2019s ambition to finance services that are able to address different geographical areas in which Orange is present. It will enable us to develop the video-on-demand market, particularly in Africa. It will also enable us to enrich the content we already offer to our customers in France, as Afrostream should be launched on Orange TV by next summer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tonj\u00e9 Bakang, CEO of Afrostream, commented that \u201cThe future of television is mobile.
