Isolux Corsán, through its subsidiary Isolux Infrastructure, has opened the NH-6 highway to the traffic along 133 kilometres between Gujarat and Hazira Port in India.
The total project budget was €270 million.
The concession project for the operation of the NH-6 highway was awarded to the joint venture Corsan-Corviam Construcción- SOMA ENTERPRISE LIMITED. Each company own the 50% of the capital equity of the joint venture.
Before it was opened to traffic on 19 August, the Spanish company executed the adaptation and widening of the road, increasing the highway from two lanes to four; in addition to the construction of the service roads on both sides of the road.
Among the works performed by Isolux Corsan, we would highlight the execution of six railway crossings, four viaducts, 24 underpasses and 36 bridges (three of which are over 60 meters long).
Isolux Corsan has increased its activity in India in the latest six years. The company is currently operationg four highways under concession in this country, with more than 700 km and over €2.0Bn investment.
In addition to the NH-6 highway, the Spanish multinational manages the NH-1 Panipat-Jalandhar (291 km), the NH-2 Varanasi-Aurangabad (192 km) and NH-8 Kishangarh-Ajmer-Beawar (94 km), all of them through its subsidiary Isolux Infrastructure.
The Infrastructure division is responsible for widening or, as it is the case in this latest project as well new build of the mentioned highways.
