Google announced today a colorful revamp of its logo and visual identity.
The change comes after a full restrucrturation of the company, but the reason why under the new logo is to do with how people is interacting now with Google products.
Google logo and branding, which were originally built for a single desktop browser page, and updated them for a world of seamless computing across an endless number of devices and different kinds of inputs (such as tap, type and talk).

“We think we’ve taken the best of Google (simple, uncluttered, colorful, friendly), and recast it not just for the Google of today, but for the Google of the future,” Tamar Yehoshua (VP. Product Management Google) Bobby Nath (Director of User Experience, Google) say in the official communication published on the Google blog.
The new logo and visual identity is being rolled out soon accross all Google products.
Far more than a logo
The new identity not only tells people that they are using Google but also shows how Google is working for them. For example, new elements like a colorful Google mic help the users identify and interact with Google whether they are talking, tapping or typing.
The little blue “g” icon is replaced by a four-color “G” that matches the logo.
Why this change?
At the begining, of the company Google’s services were reached through a single device, the desktop computer. Today users interact with Google accross many different platforms, apps and devices (mobile, TVs, car dashboards, etc.), even along the same day.
