McCann Worldgroup announced today that Emiliano Gonzalez De Pietri to date Chief Creative Officer at McCann Spain has been promoted to Global Creative Partner, Global Brands at McCann Worldgroup.
The name of the person who will succeed De Pietri at the head of the agency in Spain has not yet been revealed, but the agency advances that ‘the mystery’ will be revealed in the coming weeks and that he or she will be a high-profile professional.
From now on De Pietri will focus on strengthening creative potential and identifying new creative opportunities for global clients and brands. He will work closely with Nathan Brown, global Chief Growth Officer of McCann Worldgroup, to drive growth and energize the new business of the network, bringing together the best teams to build strong and lasting brand platforms for its clients.
The new Global Creative Partner, Global Brands of McCann Worldgroup will report directly to Javier Campopiano (Global Chief Creative Officer of McCann Worldgroup and McCann).
“In this new role, I will be able to make the most of the network’s impressive creative resources across markets, offices and disciplines to bring radical creativity to brands wherever they are. This is something we have been doing organically for some time now; my appointment formalises this ambition and gives it scale,” said González De Pietri.
Both Emiliano González De Pietri and Javier Campopiano are based in the Madrid office, which is experiencing rapid growth, establishing itself as an important global hub, under the lead of CEO Lucia Angulo. “We are lucky to have so much creative talent in Spain. These are decisive times for the office,” said Angulo, who joined the McCann Worldgroup Spain last March.

De Pietri’s promotion reaffirms, according to the multinational, “the network’s commitment to creative excellence for its clients globally.”
In fact, it is the latest in a series of new additions and promotions designed to drive growth and boost creativity globally. These include the appointment of Lynsey Atkin as the new CCO of McCann London and the promotion of Adrian Botan to Global Creative Partner, Creative Excellence at McCann Worldgroup.
“Emiliano has been the driving creative force behind some of our most significant global wins in recent times, thanks to his unique ability to bring together talent from all areas and capabilities of our organisation. He is exceptional at building and leading highly creative teams, capable of solving large-scale business problems with radical creativity” commented Campopiano. “With this global role, we will continue to bring the power of “Truth Well Told” to brands around the world, not only to build more lasting brand platforms, but also to generate business results for our global network.”
Under Campopiano’s leadership, the network has achieved excellent results in Cannes, ranking among the top five global networks with a total of 41 lions, including a Titanium lion and four Grand Prix, as well as other recognitions at The One Show, Clio Awards and D&AD, among others. In the last year, McCann Worldgroup was named Network of the Year by the Effie Awards, ANDY Awards, Epica Awards and New York Festivals Advertising Awards.
In Spain since 2021, leading the global creative work for Ikea and other brands
De Pietri joined McCann Spain in 2021 to take on the responsibility of Chief Creative Officer, succeeding the Spanish Mónica Moro in the position.
He came from Grey (WPP Group) where he worked for eight years buiding a brilliant career both for the agency and for him.
At the aforementioned WPP agency he led offices in Latin America and North America, until he was finally named Executive Creative Director for Europe.
From this position he led the global work for brands such as Pringles, GSK, Carlsberg and Volvo. In 2022, a year after his arrival in Madrid, he was named Creative of the Year in Spain, in El Ojo de Iberoamérica. Emiliano has won a Grand Prix and a Glass Lion and his work has been recognised at all major international creative festivals, including 48 Cannes Lions.

As Chief Creative Officer of McCann Spain, De Pietri led a series of important new wins at a global level, including the appointment of McCann as the first global marketing partner of the IKEA brand latest Summer.
His creative leadership has strengthened McCann’s position in Spain, placing the agency at the forefront group of most innovative creative agencies in the mentioned market.
His recent projects include award-winning campaigns such as the acclaimed “Atrapados en los 90” for IKEA and “Mapfre Live Insurance,” both recognized at prestigious festivals such as Cannes Lions, D&AD, LIAs, Clio and the Effie Awards Europe.
