With 71.004.010 votes (a 51% of the total issued) and 279 electoral votes, Donald Trump (Republican party) won the Presidential elections held yesterday in the USA. At least this has been reported by The Associated Press and Reuters.
According with the data published by Reuters, as of 5:45 a.m. ET (10:45 GMT) Trump had won 279 electoral votes, 56 votes more than Kamala Harris’ 223. Several states were yet to be counted, but Trump had already obtained nine electoral votes further than the 270 needed to win the elections.
Trump had also overcomed Harris (Democrats’ candidate) by around 5 million emmited votes.
If his victory is confirmed by the US Election Assistance Commission (we must remember that the count of votes is still not the official), Trump is scheduled to take office as the new POTUS at the 60th US Presidential Innauguration Ceremony to be held on 20th January 2025.
