Facebook ends 1stQ with users increase but ad revenues down against 4thQ 2017

The scandal Cambridge Analytica seems no way set to stop Facebook’s increase in revenues and users.
Both DAUs (daily active users)and MAUs (monthly active users) went up, not down during the quarter. Facebook posted a 13% increase against the level reached in 1stQ 2017 reaching respectively the 1.45 Bn and 2.20Bn.
MAUs and DAUS ecxperienced as well a push up compared to the level reached on 4thQ 2017, respectively 2.129Bn and 1.401Bn.

The company posted 11,795 million in advertising revenues, a 50% rise compared to the same period 2017.
Ad revenues came in a 91% from Mobile. Mobile advertising in Facebook experienced a 85% rise compared to the 1stQ 2017.

True that ad revenues experienced a rise compared to 2stQ2017 but not compared to the 4thQ 2017, when the company declared $12,972 million.

Revenue from operations increased a 64% yoy to the $5,449 million compared to the 1stQ 2017, with total costs and expenses at $6,517 million (39% higher than in the same quarter in 2017) and  operating marging up a 5% from 41 to 46%.

Headcount was 27,742 as of March 31st, 2018, an increase of 48% in employees year-over-year.

Facebook shares began trading today at $159.69 per title at Nasdaq. The proce increased a 10.86% ending at $170.55. Facebook titles broke today a continued loose in value trend that started on 19th April after a more or less slow recovery in pricefrom the drop down experienced on 27th March in the middle of the scandal Cambridge Analytica.
