Twitter announced today that they are starting to remove the 140 limit in the direct messages between tweeters.
The company says that the aim of this change is making the private side of Twitter even more powerful and fun.
The social network begins rolling out this change today across their Android and iOS apps, on twitter.com,TweetDeck, and Twitter for Mac.
Twitter announces that the change will continue to roll out worldwide over the next few weeks.
Sending and receiving Direct Messages via SMS will still be limited by the 140 characters maximum.
