Joe Reinstein, from strategist at the White House to Vice President Performics

Performics, the full service performance marketing network within ZenithOptimedia, has hired Joe Reinstein, former senior strategist for the Obama Administration, as Executive Vice President of Integrated Services

At Performics he will oversee the agency’s pivotal planning & insights, business development and marketing practices and will report into Scott Shamberg, Performics’ U.S. president.

During his tenure at the White House, Reinstein created events to support initiatives for the President and First Lady, in turn creating compelling content for the administration’s digital platforms. As director of surrogates at Obama for America, his team produced influencer content that leveraged powerful analytics to create the largest grassroots online community in history.

Prior to 2009, Reinstein managed integrated advertising campaigns for some of America’s most iconic brands. He helped launch Aquafina to become the number one brand of bottled water in the U.S., and managed all of BBDO’s U.S. Wrigley business driving record sales and profits. Reinstein also sat brand-side as Vice President of Marketing at Medline Industries, an $8Bn healthcare manufacturer.

Reinstein’s political background is a departure from the norm in an industry where agencies tend to hire from within the space. Yet it is only one captivating component of his nearly 30-year career spent building brands for consumer products, multi-nationals, start-ups, government and social causes.
