Dentsu Aegis acquires 51% stake in Dwi Sapta Group in Indonesia

Dentsu Aegis Network Ltd. has reached an agreement with the major shareholders of the largest independent full-service advertising agency in Indonesia Dwi Sapta Group (Dwi), to  acquire a 51% stake in the company with an option of making it a wholly owned subsidiary in the future. The deal is expected to close in the first half of 2017.

Following the acquisition, Dentsu will engage in business alliances and integration between Dwi Sapta Group companies and Dentsu Group companies deployed in Indonesia to enhance synergies and accelerate growth strategies in Indonesia.

Indonesia, the 16th largest economy in the world, is a promising advertising market that is the largest in Southeast Asia.

Established in 1981, the Dwi Sapta Group, which is headquartered in Jakarta, owns at present nine companies specializing in creative, media, digital, PR. Having grown to become Indonesia’s largest independent full-service advertising agency, it ranks among the top global agencies in terms of media services. Specifically, the Dwi Sapta Group is the fourth leading advertising group in the country and offers its services to approximately 150 clients from among top companies in Indonesia.

Dwi posted IDR 106.3Bn in revenues for the year ended on 31st December 2015.
Aloysium Adji Watono(CEO & Founder Dwi) and Maya Carolina Watono (Managing Director) lead a human team of 400 people.
