Facebook ad revenues and users keep on gowing and growing in the 2ndQ 2018, despite the Cambridge Analytica scandal and the £500.000 fine on Zuckerberg’s business, announced by the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) some days ago.
The company posted $13,038 million in ad revenues 91% of which came from mobile advertising.
Ad revenues in 2ndQ 2018 experienced a 42%% increase over the same period 2017.
Mobile sourced ad sales contributed the 87% of total Facebook ad business in the same quarter last year.

Daily active users (DAUs) in June 2018 grew 11% to 1.47Bn, against the same month last year.

As Facebook just unveiled MAUs and DAUs for June 2018 it is difficult to know the impact of the ICO fine and new data on affected Facebook users (the mentioned UK Gov. Office rose the number from 50 million to 87 million).
Despite this, Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook founder and CEO) keeps confident on growth, as he underscored “Our community and business continue to grow quickly,” . “We are committed to investing to keep people safe and secure, and to keep building meaningful new ways to help people connect.”
Net income from Facebook operations reached the $5,106 million, therefore it went up a 31% compared to the same quarter 2017.
Total costs and expenses increased a 50% to $7,368 million, along with the headcount that stood at 30,275 employees as of June 2018, which means an 47% increase year over year.
