Monica Moro leaves McCann Spain

Mónica Moro, so far McCann’s Creative General Director has decided to leave the agency where she has developed her entire professional career to take a break and rethink her future.

Raquel Martínez, Mónica’s executive creative director and partner since the beginning and with whom she has shared the great challenge of turning McCann into the great creative bastion, also leaves the agency. Together they have created some of the most memorable campaigns in this country, for clients such as Coca-Cola, Campofrío or IKEA. Together they entered, and together they have decided to embark on a new path.

“Leaving the family hurts and is hard to do, but it is a necessary and vital act. Leaving at this time, being McCann such a strong agency, with teams that I love, makes me feel even more proud and grateful. The generosity and trust of my partners in the agency it has been fundamental to be able to take this step and try to fulfill new dreams, ”explains Mónica Moro.

Moro has collaborated to select who will succeed her

The creative shared her decision with the agency’s management a few months ago and the news announced today is the result of a process of calm change, carried out with the utmost trust, affection and mutual respect.

The relationship between Monica and the agency has always been one of maximum collaboration. So much so that the process of selecting candidates to creatively direct what will be the new McCann was carried out jointly by Marina Specht, CEO of the Group, and Mónica Moro herself.

McCann will announce shortly who is the person who will take over from Monica Moro , assuming the maximum creative responsibility of the agency.

More than 20 years in the same agency

The multi-award winning creative, considered as the most admired Creative in Spain by the professionals in the sector, according to the last 3 editions of the Agency Scope published by Scopen, ends an over 20 years long lasting relationship with McCann, where she started her professional career as a trainee.

Her creative strength and her true passion for what she does soon paved her way for towards the Creative Direction of the agency. Moro was the first woman in Spain to reach such leading creative position in a multinational advertising company.
