During the peak of flu season in Poland, Saatchi & Saatchi/Interactive Solutions Poland and Saatchi & Saatchi Switzerland have joined forces to create for their client Thearflu, the first interactive outdoor ad able to detect if you have fever, one of the main symptoms of flu, and generate thermo selfie for sharing.
The ads are equipped with a live thermo-scanner camera, which allows people to check how hot they actually feel.
The first interactive Theraflu Thermoscanner was revealed in Warsaw’s Pasaz Wiecha last weekend, and from Wednesday will be installed in Zlote Tarasy shopping centre.
Jason Romeyko, Global Chief Creative Officer commented: “This idea really fits in with GSK’s commitment to transforming their properties into Fast Moving Consumer Health Brands. This outdoor is a wonderful mash-up of technology, health, real-life application and consumer engagement. It fires up a new set of innovative ideas we can bring to life in healthcare and wellness.”
Theraflu, wanted to give people a fast and effective tool to detect flu faster than ever. The result is the #TherafluThermoscanner, which not only detects fever by checking the users temperature in real time, but also generates a thermo-scanner selfie which the person scanned can share: with his/her boss as an excuse for eg. not going to work; with is/her girl/boyfriend to prove is really are ‘hot’; or as a Facebook profile photo.
After completing their thermo-scanner selfie, people are encouraged to download it on the microsite or via a QR code, then share it on social media with the hashtag #TherafluThemoscanner.
The Theraflu Thermoscanner application is built using a very sensitive, latest generation thermal scanning camera, that can actually see people’s body temperature, something that can’t be done just with a human nacked eye.
Everything works under the control of dedicated custom built software running on an Android device, which turns data from the camera into an interactive application casted to a large high definition screen.
