The Super Bowl LV casting analysis carried out by comScore and Hive shows sustained efforts by advertisers and brands to promote gender equality, as well as diversity & inclusion on their ads and messages for Super Bowl LV.

A 91% of national TV commercials featured women and 76% featured diverse casts, maintaining double-digit gains compared to commercials within Super Bowl LIII in 2019.

Less prevalent in this year’s commercials were new product announcements. While the Super Bowl is often a prefferred showcase window for new cars, devices, films, and other launches of new products, only 29% of national TV commercials this year introduced new products, down from 40% last year.

comScore and Hive analisis underscores Another significant change year-over-year: a sharp decrease in advertisers’ references to websites, apps, and hashtags.

Just a 29% of commercials included an online call-to-action compared to 56% last year. But there were sound exceptions to the no-call-to-action rule, such as Frito Lay’s Cheetos ad.
