Cambridge Analytica Scandal costs Facebook millions of MAUs and DAUs loses in Europe

The Cambridge Analytica scandal has dammaged Facebook users growth in Europe and the US&Canada geographical areas.
Despite the 1 million decrease in MAUs (monthly active users) and the 3 millon drop down in DAUs (daily active users)against 1stQ this same year within Europe, the company posted increases in ad revenues in the Old Continent both at the average revenue per user (ARPU) level and at a global level (worldwide revenues).

Facebook experienced a decline from the 282 million European DAUs reached in 1stQ to the 279 million in 2ndQ. The loss in MAUs within Europe was from the 377 million level for the 1stQ 2018 to the 376 million.

MAUs and DAUs growth in the US and Canada remained flat for the Quarter at 241 million and 185 million respectively. The stagnation in users numbers has not affected ad revenues growth following the information posted by Facebook yesterday.
