Xaxis (wholly-owned by WPP), the global programmatic media and technology platform, has inked a contract to purchase Triad Retail Media, leading digital retail media specialist in the US. The agreement is still subject to regulatory approval.
Triad enables large retailers to turn their websites and apps into advertising platforms. Marketers through advertisement in the retailer’s platforms and apps, can reach and engage consumers as they shop online.
The deal turns Xaxis into a significant player in the fast-growing retail media and e-commerce market, specially through mobile, while providing Triad with access to Xaxis’ technology expertise and the resources and client base of WPP.
Triad’s gross revenues were over $500 million for the year ended December 31st, 2015 with net revenues of over US$120 million as of the same date.
Its roster of clients include Walmart, Sam’s Club, eBay, Toys “R” Us, Kohl’s, Asda Stores Limited and other global retailers.
Established in 2004, Triad currently employs nearly 700 people. It is based in St. Petersburg, Florida (USA) with offices in London, Sydney, Hamburg, Amsterdam and ten other markets.
