Dentsu-Aegis has started off this month with what seems a definite will to grow its business in Malaysia. The Japanese-French multinational announced on 1st April an agreement to acquire creative agency Merdeka LHS and just yesterday the acquisition of 51% stake in the capital equity of full service digital marketing agency Consider Digital. This latest deal includes a purchase option that would allow Dentu-Aegis extend its stake to the 100% of the capital equity of Consider at a later date.
From Consider to Consider iProspect
Co founded in 2013 by Kasper Wandi (CEO) and Therese Schwensen (COO), Consider Digital provides a wide range of services in the digital advertising and marketing domain, including SEM, social media, content marketing, data analytics and e-commerce. Over the last three years, the agency has rapidly grown to become one of the leading digital agencies in Malaysia, and now has a team of 50 specialists.

Consider Digital is also a leading information and communications technology (ICT) company in Malaysia, and has been awarded MSC status by Malaysia’s Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC).
Consider posted MYR 5.1 million revenues for the fiscal year 2015.
Post-acquisition, Consider Digital will become part of performance marketing brand iProspect , one of the Dentsu Group’s nine global network brands, and will be rebranded “Consider iProspect.”
From Merdeka to Dentsu LHS
Established in 2013 by Tony Savarimuthu, Huang Ean Hwa and Lee Szu Huang, a well-known advertising trio who parted ways with a major advertising agency after more than ten years to form their own independent creative consultancy, Merdeka LHS provides a broad range of advertising and communications services including brand consulting, development of advertising strategies, and creative production.

In the Malay language, “merdeka” means “independent” or “free. After the acquisition this independent agency becomes part of a bigger network changing its free name into Dentsu LHS, it will join forces with Dentsu Malaysia to form Dentsu LHS. The new company will become part of Dentsu Branded Agencies, one of the Dentsu Group’s nine global network brands.
