Dentsu Inc. has appointed Jun Shibata as Managing Director of the newly created Working Environment Reform Office. The appointment is effective since 15th February.
The Working Environment Reform Office is in charge to carry out a series of companywide labor environment reform measures in Japan.
This Office will be aided and the effectiveness of the measures carried out will be controlled by an independent advisory committee.
The Independent Advisory Committee for Labor Environment Reform Activities, thi is its name, is composed by external experts who will approach the reforms with an objective viewpoint, as explained by the agency.
Gan Matui (Attorney at Law and Ex-Prosecutor General, Fukuoka High Public Prosecutors Office) presides the Indepentent Advisory Commitee, which is integrated as well by two memebers: Kimie Iwata (Chairman, Japan Institute for Women’s Empowerment & Diversity Management) and Shione Kinoshita (Attorney at Law, Administrative Officer, Japan Labor Law Association).
The Commitee will be operatie from 28th February 2017.
Dentsu shows commited to reform the working environment within Dentsu Group in Japan since one overworked employee commited succide in 2015.
Matsuri Takahashi decided to jump through a window at her 24’s. The junior employee joined Dentsu Japan in April 2015. Soon she was working over 100 additional hours each month.
