Snap inc. has started off today the sale of its sun glases with snap camera integrated.
Spectacles, this is the name of the product, have been launched using a minion shaped pop up vending machine (the bot) that every snapchater vould love to “meet and tweet”. The minion pops up unexpectedly in one location for just one day and Spectacles can only be purchased from it. The bot has an eye that reacts whenever someone stares at it, the eye features a virtual tester that allows the user try he color of Spectacles it fits better to him/her.
The vending machine pop up has been preceded by a great outdoor campaign featuring the corporate yellow color of Snap inc. and the black and white circular eye lense, ressembling the shape of the Spectacles. The Snap camera has also its own website, Twitter and You Tube channels . Precisely, the bot teaser presenting the minion shaped pop up vending machine was published tyhe same 10th November.

Snap. inc has developed one of the smallest wireless video cameras in the world, able to taking a day’s worth of Snaps on a single charge. The camera is seamlessly integrated into a fun pair of sunglasses (available in 3 different colors).
Spectacles connect directly to Snapchat via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi and transfer the memories of the user directly into the app in Snapchat brand new circular video format.
Circular video plays full screen on any device, in any orientation, and captures the human perspective with a 115 degree field of view.
Both the product itself and the pop up vending machine are enjoying lots of buzz in media and social networks before during and after the launch.
People has gone mad about Spectacles. Leaving aside the viral free promotion for the device and the vending machine the camera was resold on the Internet between $450 and $900 or even more money.
The original price for a pair of Spectacles inside the case that is designed to recharge them is $130, when directly bought from the pop up “minion”, who suddenly “landed” on Venice beach today.
