Piyush Pandey to take on as Ogilvy’s Worldwide Chief Creative Officer next January

Piyush Pandey, currently Chairman of Ogilvy India, has been named the agency’s next Chief Creative Officer, Worldwide. He will take on this new role on January 2019.

He is the most decorated and revered advertising creative in India, but most important he has created and produced, along with his brother Prasoon Pandey some of the most unforgettable ad pieces deeply rooted in Indian culture, people and society. Their creative works are also reputed by a peculiar sense of humor, very Indian, but able to connect with people worldwide.

Pandey brothers were presented the Lion of St. Mark at Cannes Lions 2018. Piyush Pandey with his team at O’gilvy India won the first ever Lion for this Asian country at Cannes Lions.

Both Pandey brothers are family men and have received a not very usual education in India within a family where they were just two guys among a nurtured bunch of sisters.
Ogilvy also unveiled today that the agency will expand its Creative Council to 20 members by next January, with 50% of the seats being held by female creatives.

This is the first step taken by Ogilvy in the gender parity path after the announcement made by the WPP agency at Cannes Lions 2018 that it would hire 20 senior female creative leaders by 2020, a commitment that will be overseen and tracked by the 3% Movement.

In addition to Piyush’s appointment, the agency also announced that Joe Sciarrotta has been appointed as Deputy Chief Creative Officer, Worldwide, continuing to lead all creative work on Cisco and SC Johnson while taking on new global creative duties. Ogilvy USA is also proud to announce Leslie Sims has joined as Chief Creative Officer, USA.

Pandey succeeds in the Worldwide CCO role to the worldwide acclaimed Asian creative Tham Khai Meng. Meng was fired by the agency in July 2018 because some employees complained about  violations of company policy by Meng. Which the violations were never were especified by the company.
