Someone said, when the Bollycao Dokyo by Panrico was launched, some thre years ago, that this was the latest perversion of the Spanish ad creatives. I don’t know if this was a perversion or not. But what I can observe is that Asia is starting to gain a considerable appeal in Western countries, specially in Spain.

All what smells Japanese, Indian or Chinese is gaining momentum among Spanish businessmen, advertising professionals and, of course, among many more or less young segments of the Spaniard population.
Just let’s have a look at the images, the concept and the aesthetics of some ads recently aired and of the products recently launched themselves.

The Bollycao Dokyo ad campaign, now being broadcasted (“mola asako”); the ONO spot series, in which the company compares the speed of its optic fiber broad band Internet service with the much celebrated and quick of NTT Docomo and other telecom providers, coming from The Empire of the Rising Sun or of the Advanced Telecommunications. The campaign uses as its musical background the “Good night, welcome, sons of the rock and roll” by the reputed Spanish rock singer Miguel Ríos but with the song lyrics in Japanese.
The name an the ad campaign for Bocawa (a Nocilla product); the somewhat hindi pop sound and final image for the Shandy beer by Cruzcampo ads; the brand Sushita, which is selling its Spanish mannufactured sushi and sashimi in the refrigerated aisles of some of the best Spanish grocery stores. Those above are some examples of this trend in Spain but there are many more.
I don’t know what do you think about this point, but in my view, Asia has come to stay in the Spanish marketing everyday soup.
It happens the same in your homeland or, on the contrary, does the “West appeal” work in your own country?.
